Matter of Britain (2025)
Matter of Britain is an Arthurian fantasy and an ethnographic documentary. Set in an English country village over the course of a year, the moving image artwork follows members of the community as they hope to heal their wasted land by questing for the Holy Grail. Simultaneously, farmers extract what they can from the wasteland and labour to make it fertile.
The project was supported by an Arts Council England Project Grant, the Lund Trust, High Weald AONB, East Sussex Arts Partnership, the University of Reading and the Museum of English Rural Life.
